Ground first
We begin with soil, water, existing trees, and the way a building meets the land. Drawings come after walking. If the ground is wrong, no planting will save it.
Approach
Most of our work is subtraction. We remove what fights the site, keep what already belongs, and add only what the climate will carry. The aim is a landscape that looks inevitable after a few years — as if it had always been this way.

02
Structure first — canopy, hedge, wall, path — then the seasons. We plant for year seven, not year one. Lawns are rare. Meadows, gravel, and moss do more work with less noise.
03
A garden is not finished at handover. We design for growth, weather, and the client’s hands. Maintenance is part of the drawing, not an afterthought.

We take a limited number of private gardens and a few civic pieces each year. Work begins with a site visit, then a short written brief — not a sales deck. Construction is coordinated with a small group of trusted contractors. We stay through the first two growing seasons.
